❥ The Truth Behind Palo Santo

History:  Palo santo is a sacred tree native to South America. From the dry interior regions Argentina and Paraguay, Peru & Ecuador, of and having a resinous heartwood used for incense.
Indigenous Latin American cultures have used its wood in traditional healing and spiritual ceremonies for centuries. A cousin of both frankincense and myrrh, palo santo literally means "holy wood or “holy stick”.


Similar to Sage and Cedar, Palo Santo is most widely used for spiritual purification and energy (house) cleansing. Once the wood sticks are burned, the smoke is believed to clear negative energy and restore tranquility and calm emotions.
Due to its recent popularity and demand Palo Santo harvest has created a myriad of problems overseas.

What to use it for:

How to use:
  1. Light a palo santo stick with a candle, lighter, or match.
  2. Hold the stick downward at a 45-degree angle.
  3. Let the stick burn for 30 seconds.
  4. Blow out the flame. Place the stick in a heatproof dish to let it burn.
  5. Air out the room afterwards if you can.
